Papers, 1749-1768.

Papers of Boston merchant John Phillips, Jr., including letters home to his wife Elizabeth Green Phillips, mostly from London and a few from Bermuda where he was on business. The letters describe his voyages, business ventures, family, and his plans to return home. Also included are his brief diary extracts for August of 1749 kept while touring England; business letters and accounts; inventories of sundry apparel and other goods; and documents giving him power of attorney.
